Topic
Uncover The Truth.
Background
Trafficking of children is a form of human trafficking and is the recruitment, transportation, transfer, harboring, or receipt of children for the purpose of exploitation.
Today, thousands of children, some as young as three or four years of age, are trafficked from Bangladesh, Pakistan, and countries in East Africa, and sold into slavery.
These children live in an oppressive environment and endure harsh living conditions. They work long hours in temperatures exceeding 100 degrees Fahrenheit, live in unsanitary conditions, receive little food, and are deprived of sleep so that they do not gain weight
Problem Identification
- children forced into slavery
- economic pressures which force women and girls into servitude.
- each year, by some estimates, hundreds of thousands of girls and boys are bought, sold or kidnapped and then forced to have sex with grown men.
- people never aware of this serious problem.
Ideation or Concept
Uncover the truth is an interactive art about the topic 'child trafficking'. It's a combination of information design and interactive installation.
The first part of the installation is information design. A visitor can read facts about child trafficking through a LCD screen. In front of the screen is a stack of crates with projection mapping technique. In the end of the presentation, 'uncover the truth' button will appear. When the user click the button, crates mapping will change to kids image. This will give the idea that the child were kidnapped and were kept inside a crate during the trafficking.
Aim and Objectives
- To create awareness about child trafficking.
- To give the idea what the kids went through during the trafficking.
Motivation
- Because it's the worst kind of human exploitation imaginable.
